Becalm

SeaDream #1 - One evening I was out preparing to shoot a coastal sundown. It wasn't much of a spectacle. Just a little color at the horizon. But I had driven through the rush hour traffic to get to the location and was determined to record some sort of image. I played around with a technique until it got dark. The result is this photo. I went home and took a look at it and got very excited. While it was possible to tell this was an ocean view photo, the movement and subtle differences of the texture in the water are very compelling. I personally find a meditative calmness in these images and i hope you do too! They look quite amazing printed in large sizes on metal! Now, when I head to the coast for sunset I don't care what the weather is going to do. If it is not conducive to my normal landscape work, I know it will be perfect for a SeaDream!

Adrift

SeaDream #2 - A nice wave set helps create the emotion in my second image. I have personally printed this on metal and it provides me with much joy!

SeaDream #3 - I decided to crop this photo square. I like the implied symmetry it displays.

Perception

SeaDream #4 - I think I love the unpredictability in the creation of these the most about the process. I take dozens and dozens of shots, testing out various settings. The technique does not always produce an image that I like. But when it does, you know it! I love how this stretches from right to left with surrealism blending into near reality!

Shorebreak

SeaDream #5 - A father and son were playing tag with the shore break but this is the only image that contained their presence

SeaDream #6 - This image feels more like flying than floating

Astonishment

SeaDream #7 - Sometimes a noun feels like a verb doesn't it? Webster defines astonishment as a feeling of great surprise and wonder... just in case you were wondering about the title!

SeaDream #8 - Sandy beaches are fine, but a craggy coast can provide a more mysterious seadream

Seadream #9 - The colors this seadream produced are very different from others. So much so, I decided to print it out on canvas, like a painting. In fact, people look at it and ask me if it is a painting!

Ribbons

SeaDream #10 - Another ho hum sunset produced one of the most compelling monotone seadreams' I have yet to create!

Ethereal

SeaDream #11 - I came very close to getting soaked and the roar of the surf was deafening. But when the photo got produced the level of serenity it provided me evoked the title.

SeaDream #12 - I did manage to get wet with this moment which has made it all the more memorable

SeaDream #13 - Lucky number because it was a brilliant sunset but by the time this session came I was hopelessly hooked on my SeaDream project

SeaDream #14 - Not the fire breathing female dragon type but more of an enigma or fantasy. The image is working overtime in the apocalypse mode.
